Cogra Moss, a man-made lake created by the damming of Rakegill Beck in about 1880, though its function as a water supply ceased in 1975. In 2013 it was found to need major repairs to its dam and, due to the high cost of repair, was at risk of the reservoir being removed and the land reverting to its original wetland state known locally as a 'moss'. Thankfully the decision has been taken to retain the reservoir and carry out the work required.
