Helvellyn From Castlerigg
Any photographer's natural response to this scene is to want to 'get it all in' by using an as-wide-as-possible wide angle lens. Unfortunately the wider the angle of the lens the greater the miniaturisation of the mountains. And so the aim here was to photograph the scene with a standard lens to achieve natural perspective but with full depth of field from the closest rocks in the wall to Helvellyn's peak in the distance.
